Of the 132 reefer loads we ran Ohio → Texas, 129 came back loaded.

Texas produce is the most seductive freight in America — big rates out of the Valley. Every dispatcher can find you a load into Texas. The question that decides whether you made money is whether you're coming back with something — or deadheading 1,200 miles to find out what you really earned.

We don't send reefers one direction and hope.

What reefer actually demands

Reefer isn't dry van with a cold box. The ways you lose money are completely different — and a dispatcher who doesn't run it daily finds out on your dime.

Temperature is a legal document

Set point, continuous vs. start-stop, pre-cool, pulp temp at the door. Get the rate con wrong and a rejected load becomes your claim, not the broker's. We read every rate con for temp before you commit.

Produce season moves every six weeks

McAllen and Pharr in spring, Salinas in summer, Florida in winter. The lane that paid $5,200 in April pays $2,400 in August — a dispatcher who doesn't know the calendar books you into a market that already collapsed.

Detention is where reefer margin dies

Produce houses run long. A four-hour dwell on a $4,000 load is not a $4,000 load. We paper detention from the first hour, in writing — and you keep 100%.

Breakdown is a live emergency

A dry van with a problem is late. A reefer with a problem is a total loss and a claim. Someone has to be reachable and moving within minutes.

Washouts, load locks, seals

Pulp checks and seal integrity — all of it is a reason a broker refuses to pay, and all of it is documented before we book.

How we run your reefer

01
Cost per mile, reefer-specific

Your reefer burns fuel your tractor doesn't. Most reefer operators price like dry van operators and quietly lose the difference. We build your CPM with reefer fuel, higher maintenance reserve, and the real detention exposure of your lanes.

02
The backhaul before the headhaul

We look at what comes out of the destination market before we take the load into it. That's how a 98% backhaul rate happens.

03
Temp spec verified before you commit

Rate con to you, every time. Set point, mode, appointment windows, all stops.

04
Detention papered from hour one

Written notice to the broker. You keep 100% of what we recover.

05
We know the produce calendar

We'll tell you when a market is about to turn — and when the load that looks great is about to strand you.

But read the thesis again: anybody can find one good load. The numbers that matter are the median, the backhaul rate, and the fact that this book has run for three straight years.
